I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Utah Valley University, specializing in social and political philosophy and critical theory. I completed my PhD at Villanova University in 2021.
My research broadly concerns concepts of education and development in social and political philosophy, especially in the critical theory of the early Frankfurt School. Recently, I have been publishing on the connections between critical theory and the phenomenological tradition. You can find a description of my current book project and links to many of my papers on my research page, and my CV has a full and updated list of my publications.
In addition to my areas of specialization, I have taught courses in early modern philosophy, anti-colonial philosophy, logic, applied ethics, and more. More about my approach to teaching can be found here.
I have been on the board of the Radical Philosophy Association (RPA) for two years, and recently joined the editorial board of the Radical Philosophy Review. I also helped organize the past two RPA conferences, serving as local host of the 2024 meeting in Salt Lake City, and as one of the program chairs of the upcoming meeting in Claremont, CA, in October 2026.
Before Salt Lake City and Philadelphia I lived in Washington, DC, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois. Aside from philosophy, I enjoy literature, watching movies (especially Romanian ones), and spending time with my family, which often involves hiking and ice cream.
